Connie Marylon Toney, 66, died Dec. 19, 2022 at her home in Maumelle.
She was born Oct. 11, 1956 in Eudora, was a former member of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock where she served as the women’s Sunday school teacher and troop leader for Girl Scout Troop 659.
She was a 1975 graduate of Eudora High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1981. She later earned her master’s degree in educational media and library science from University of Central Arkansas.
She worked as a teacher and library media specialist for North Little Rock School District for over 30 years.
She was a member of Sistahs of Maumelle Book Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Lee Kearney and Tommie L. Mosby; step-father, Simon Mosby Jr.; two brothers, Transquinian D. Mosby and Larry D. Clark; and one sister, Lorraine Clark.
She leaves her husband of 47 years, Byrel M. Toney; one daughter, Constassia Michaelynn Toney; one granddaughter; three sisters, Belinda Sims of Little Rock, Bridget C. McLean of Bronx, N.Y., and Dechantria Daneque Wallace of North Little Rock; and one brother, Andre Kearney of Kansas City, Mo.
A celebration of life service was held at 10 a.m. at St. Mark Baptist Church Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, with Pastor Earnest Thomas officiating. Burial was in Hill Cemetery in Eudora.
Active pallbearers were Carl Butler, Nathanial Early, Jamil Gaston, Raymond Mosby, Robert Turner Jr., Brandon Turner, and Frederick Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers were Howard Brown, Cleotha Toney, Fayette Moore, Ronald Toney, Roosevelt Thompson, and Herbert Toney.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bethune Funeral Service.
