Residents from throughout the region celebrate Thanksgiving and kick-off of the Christmas season with a trip to Christmas Wonderland, the Ashley County light show Sam Finney has put on annually since 1985. With a concentration on the “true meaning of Christmas” Finney has handmade several of the decorations and enjoys reminding the community that “Jesus is the reason for the season.” The wonderland also offers tribute to men and women in the service. Finney’s light display has expanded over the years and is now a famous drive-thru featuring over one million Christmas lights. It won ABC Network’s Great Christmas Light Fight in 2015. The display is located on Hwy 133 north of Crossett.
