The Lakeside Elementary School and Lakeside Middle School VEX IQ teams competed in their first VEX IQ tournament of the season. The tournament was the Delta Showdown held in McGehee.

In the elementary division, the Orange Crushers brought home the highest honor with the Excellence Award and the Skills Award. 

The team members are Michael Armour, Jameerah Clark, Patience Armour, and Azariyah Keys. 

The Lightning Bolts won the Design Award. Those team members are Roydarian Bridges, Vinzavion King, Ariyanna Smith, and Ethan Starks.  

In the middle school division, the Robo-Kings won the highest honor with the Excellence Award. They also won the Skills Award. The students on this team are Eddie Emerson, Evan Emerson, and Christopher Nolen.

The Robo-Runners won the Teamwork Award. Those students are Vincent King, Eric Mondragon, Conner Jenkins, and Jaymarion Artley.

Function of Construction brought home the Design Award. This team is made up of Jada Jones, Quazerrick Anderson, Elijah Stanton, and Kayli Johnson.

The VEX teams have also competed in the National Online Promote VEX Video Challenge. Function of Construction has been notified that they are one of the 10 finalists in the contest. Winners will be announced at a later date. Their video may be seen at

Currently, the Orange Crushers are ranked number one in Arkansas for the elementary division and the Robo-Kings are ranked number one in Arkansas for the middle school division. VEX IQ teams are coached by Arkadia Armour, Jennifer Armstrong, and Christina Davenport.
