The Lakeport Plantation, an Arkansas State University Heritage Site, will host “History for the Holidays,” a book signing and author event featuring local and regional authors. The event will be on Dec. 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is an opportunity for the public to meet authors and purchase signed copies of their books.

Mark K. Christ and Jim Woodrick will be on hand to sign copies of their Arkansas and Mississippi Civil War histories. Several authors have written about their home communities in Arcadia’s Images of America Series: Blake Wintory of Chicot County, Princella Nowell of Washington County, MS and Mark Spencer of Monticello.

The event will also feature Robert Fulford of Dermott and Woody Woods of Madison, MS. Fulford has authored several books about growing up on the Yellow Bayou Plantation in Chicot County, while Woods has written about plantations in Washington County, MS.

The program is free and open to the public.

For more information, contact Dr. Blake Wintory at 870-265-6031.
