It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Residents and others in the community have started to decorate their homes, churches and businesses to celebrate Christmas. A variety of Christmas activities are on the calendar for the city starting with Cookies with Santa which will be this weekend in the Cingaloni home located at 481 Mazzanti Road in Lake Village.
Residents are filling their yards with Christmas decor and the calendar is filling up with holiday events.
John Conner at the Chamber of Commerce is busy planning the Light Up Lake Village Christmas parade which is scheduled for Dec. 16 at 6pm.
Conner said they are now collecting parade applications which can be picked up and turned in at Lake Village City Hall. Anyone interested in participating in the upcoming parade must turn their forms in to Abby Box at City Hall by Dec. 12.
Other community events include Cookies with Santa sponsored by a local family and the Christmas light contest sponsored by the Heritage Club.
Cookies with Santa will be this weekend, Dec. 8 from 6pm until 8pm in the Cingaloni home located at 481 Mazzanti Road in Lake Village.
The Heritage Club is now accepting applicants for a Christmas light contest.
Last year's winners were Connie Latrell who won the Waters Edge Award, Ned and Sharon Samplesi who won the Creative Lighting, Michale and Tisha Hayes who won the Door Award, Jake and Leigha Michael who won the Judge's Choice Award, Mac McIntosh who won the House Award, Paul Michael who won the Business Award, Wayne Johnson who won the Yard Award and David and Rhonda McNemar who won the Kid's Choice.
The Heritage Club will judge Christmas lights on Dec.12 and 14. Those interested in adding their property to this year's contest may contact 662-897-6868.
