Tonya McKenzie from Chicot County Extension Office in Lake Village did Healthy Eats recently at the Eudora library. She served whole wheat, pita bread, and bagels, and she talked about “It’s a Sandwich,” by Robert L. Dayff and Patricia McKissack. McKenzie also let the children create their own sandwiches with their teacher’s help. The toppings were carrots, lettuce, cheese, turkey breasts, tomatoes, cucumbers, blueberries, apples, cream cheese, Nutella, and whipped peanut butter. The 28 children and five teachers enjoyed themselves.
