Governor Asa Hutchinson said Monday that the Arkansas Department of Health had reported 69 new cases of COVID-19 within the state. This put the number of active cases at 1,640 with 156 hospitalized, which was down seven from Sunday. Of those hospitalized, 17 were on ventilators, which was unchanged from Sunday.
Four more deaths were attributed to the virus for a total of 5,665 statewide out of the total reported of 332,222 cases.
“Our number of active cases and hospitalizations declined again yesterday,” Hutchinson said. “Our vaccine numbers are increasing, but we must do more.
“If you are 16 and older then you are eligible for the vaccine. It is important that our eligible high school students get a dose. Get your vaccine as soon as you can.”
Chicot County had a total of 1,464 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 with 1,425 recovered cases and 38 confirmed deaths.
